Statistics

Mark Twain said "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.¹" None-the-less, I like numbers, and I like graphs, hence a statistics page. My genealogy tool is RootsMagic, which uses sqlite as it's database. Despite some (IMO not required) proprietary db code, it is pretty straightforward to get access to the underlying data and create some interesting information based on the data. This is likely an area that I will spend more time on in the future, but for now, here is what I have.

• General: Text based statistics on what is currently in my database.
• Longevity: How long people lived over time
• Marriages: How old were people when they got married - the answer might surprise you
• Surnames and names distribution.

Please note, that the statistics need to be taken in context. The results are limited to the data I have, so for example, the Allen surname is overloaded, because I got interested in the family of Sarah Allen, my 7th Great Grandmother, who has ties back to English and Scottish royalty (yep, I'm a sucker for Royalty, and I'm currently 27,843rd in line for the Throne)
